History

A European tradition from the land of musical geniuses.

Dalibor pianos belong to the best in Czech musical tradition. Just like the works of the famous composer Bedřich Smetana, who in 1868 wrote the opera Dalibor, the name the piano has borne since 1913, and the works of the world-famous Antonín Dvořák, born in 1841 in Nelahozevsi just 10 kilometres from Zakolany, where the Dalibor piano was originally made, today this well-known name is one of the PETROF Family brand models.

Dalibor pianos brilliantly nurture the development and progress of musical talents, in the same way as the opera’s hero Dalibor, a medieval knight, who was wrongly imprisoned and forced to develop his musical talent in order to earn his keep. This story is an inspiration to amateur and professional performers the world over.
